Tips for use
Nosiboo
Never cause pain to the child, introduce the method in a tolerant and playful way.
The minimum value of the scale is optimal for infants, the medium value for toddlers and the maximum value for small children, but this may vary depending on the density of the mucus. The scale and the button can be found on top of the device.
If your child is already able to sit, hold them in a stable position while using the device. Sit your child on your lap or sit them up and support their back with a pillow. You may also sit them into a resting chair with a tilted back. Don’t lay the child on their back and don’t block the free nasal opening.
The suggested length of the aspiration is 10 seconds/nasal opening. If you have to interrupt the aspiration, switch off the device. After the motor completely shuts down, you can restart it. The device switches off after 15 minutes of continuous use but it can be restarted. In case of overuse or if not providing the sufficient ventilation, the thermal switch switches off the device and will prevent re-use for approx. 50 minutes for safety reasons.
Push the end piece of the Colibri head into the nostril. The tip of the end piece should point slightly downwards and outwards to the eyeball. In this position, you can slightly move the end piece while discontinuously performing suction with your mouth through the tube. With this method, you can reach the opening of the maxillary sinus and the mucous membrane of the nasal concha and the capillaries of the nasal septum are not hurt.
Nosiboo can be used several times a day. It is recommended that you use it before sleeping and breast-feeding/feeding to provide for an undisturbed breathing to our children.
The nasal mucus of infants can and has to be aspirated as they cannot breathe through their mouth.
Saline solutions can be used to dissolve dry or thick nasal mucus. After using the solution, wait a few minutes, remove the secretion that runs out and use the nasal aspirator only thereafter.
Use nose-drops and other formulations suggested by a doctor after aspirating the nose.
